The Social Inclusion Forum is part of the structures put in place by the Government to support the development and implementation of its plans to address poverty and social exclusion. The event provides a forum for wider public consultation and discussion on social inclusion issues, particularly with people experiencing poverty and social exclusion and the groups that work with them. SIF 2013 will take place on 26th March in Croke Park. To register please email social.inclusion@welfare.ie
As part of the preparation process for the Forum, the Community Workers’ Co-operative and the EAPN Ireland are carrying out a number of preparatory workshops. These workshops will support people to contribute to and prepare for the national Social Inclusion Forum. The workshops will cover the Government’s plans to address poverty and social exclusion, the current reality and issues impacting on these plans, as well as the Social Inclusion Forum itself as an opportunity to discuss key issues at national level. There will be time for Q&A and discussion.
EAPN Ireland and the CWC would like to encourage the participation of people with a direct experience of issues related in the workshops. A small budget is available to support participation. This can be used to contribute to travel costs for unfunded or under- funded groups and to the childcare costs of unwaged individuals. Please contact enquiries@eapn.ieif you wish to avail of this support.
